Carriere Motion Appliance

Carriere Motion Appliance

It is a patient friendly motion appliance. It is used in primarily in overjet situations – where the upper teeth are ahead of the lower teeth. The appliance brings the upper teeth back by the use of elastic forces. It can also be used to bring the lower teeth back when they are protruding ahead of the upper teeth. The low profile and smooth surface makes it comfortable to wear. A patient can transition from this appliance into Invisalign or braces.

MARA Appliance

MARA appliance

What this appliance does is help reposition the lower jaw by promoting its forward growth. If you have a severe overjet, we can try to use the MARA appliance to help realign your jaws into their proper position, if moving the teeth alone has not worked. This appliance will help to correct your bite and move your teeth so that your top and bottom teeth are in the right position relative to each other. We believe this appliance is the most comfortable and is the least noticeable. The MARA appliance is custom-made to fit inside your mouth and is cemented to the teeth. The use of the Mara appliance can change the look of your smile, and it can also improve your face’s profile by bringing your chin forward. We use the Mara appliance to attempt to avoid surgical correction of this problem.

Fixed Palate Expander

Palatable expanders are used to correct cross-bites, narrow arches and crowding. They are used in the upper arch and include a broad range of appliance designs. The fixed expanders utilize some mechanism of force (expansion screws, self-activating wire or wire activation) for development of the arch. These appliances are easy for a patient to use.

Elastics

Elastics

Elastics are an important part of the orthodontic treatment. They provide the force necessary to move the teeth and jaw into the proper alignment. They are often connecting the top tooth bracket with the bottom tooth bracket to help adjust the position of the teeth in the mouth and the position of the jaw. These elastics must be removed during meals as well as when cleaning teeth and orthodontic brackets. In addition, they are typically replaced daily because of the wear they endure.

Retainers

Hawley Retainers

The Hawley Retainer is made of a combination of plastic and metal that is custom molded to fit your mouth to hold the teeth in place. It also allows for minor adjustments as the teeth settle into place. Patients can choose from a wide range of colors for the retainer.

Bonded Retainers

Bonded Retainer

Bonded Retainers are retainers that are bonded to the back (or lingual side) of two or more teeth. They are used after treatment to maintain teeth in their proper positions. We custom make bonded retainers. Bonded retainers provide the most control of any retainer type. They can be used with removable and clear retainers.

Essix Retainers

Essix retainers are removable retainers that are made of transparent plastic. Each retainer is uniquely molded to the shape of the patient’s mouth. The retainer is virtually invisible and clear when worn.

Vivera Retainers

vivera retainers

Vivera retainers are custom made for you with the same state-of- the-art technology used to make Invisalign aligners. Because the retainers are custom made from an impression or scan of your teeth, you will benefit from a precise fit and therefore more comfortable fit. Vivera’s proprietary material is 30% stronger, which helps maintain your teeth in the desired position. It also reduces the risk of the retainer cracking or breaking, which means a more durable retainer that you can count on.

Vivera retainers come in a set of four so you periodically change them. Wearing Vivera retainers after treatment means you are keeping your teeth in their new position and protecting your smile.
